About Wealth Awesome

Wealth Awesome is a Canadian site for people who manage their own money. We publish market data on TSX and TSXV stocks and Canadian ETFs, a ten-stock portfolio measured against the S&P/TSX Composite, dated research reports, and calculators built on Canadian tax rules.

What is on the site

  • Market data. Prices, dividends, insider filings from SEDI, and analyst targets for Canadian stocks and ETFs, each with its as-of date. See where the numbers come from.
  • Awesome Portfolio™. Ten quality Canadian companies, reviewed once a month and compared with the S&P/TSX Composite. Two names and the record are public. The full list is part of WA+.
  • Calculators. Tax, TFSA, RRSP, mortgage, and FIRE math with provincial rates. Free, no account needed.
  • Free account. A watchlist for the stocks and ETFs you follow, plus the 7 stocks to buy and hold forever report. Sign in with an email code.
  • WA+. The full Awesome Portfolio™ with every monthly change, the research reports, and the Canadian small-cap lists. C$99 a year, with the money back if you ask within 30 days of your first purchase.

How we make money

Three ways. Ads on the free pages. Affiliate links, where a bank or brokerage pays us if you open an account through our link. And WA+ memberships. Affiliate and sponsored relationships are disclosed on the page where they appear. The portfolio is built by a fixed rule, so no advertiser can buy a name onto it.

What we are not

We are not registered advisers and we do not know your situation. Everything here is general information. The portfolio is a list we publish, not a fund or a managed account. Stocks can lose value. Before you act on anything you read here, check the issuer documents and, if your situation calls for it, talk to someone who is licensed to advise you.

How we handle the numbers

Every performance figure carries its date, its benchmark, and its caveat. When a chart is a back-test, we say so next to the number. When a holdings list is unavailable, we show a dated blank rather than a substitute. Reports carry the date their figures were last checked.
