Looking for a fun way to earn some side cash when you’re bored?
A staggering 73% of Canadians spend at least 3-4 hours online daily, according to CIRA. With all this time being spent online, why not get paid for doing so?
Consider taking paid online surveys on your smartphone. You won’t get rich from doing it, but it’s easy and fun to do if you have a few spare minutes a day.
I’ve vetted several survey sites to determine which ones are legit and compiled this list. Check out these top paid survey sites in Canada below.

- Sign up for multiple sites.
- Shortlist the best-paying sites.
- For point-based sites, choose activities (filling out online questionnaires or playing a game) where you can score the most points in the least amount of time.
- Some sites offer extra incentives for referring a friend.
- If possible, try completing two separate surveys on your computer and phone simultaneously.
- Consider the fee/deductions when you cash out. If frequently converting your points to dollars means losing a few cents every time, you may want to cash out once or twice a month.
- Search for branded surveys offered by major companies, as these typically pay more than surveys posted by lesser-known brands.
Online Survey Sites That Pay Cash In Canada
If you’re looking to make some extra cash on the side by answering simple questions, try signing up for one of these platforms and start taking paid online surveys.
- How Much You Can Earn: $2 to $5 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For Survey Junkie Here
Survey Junkie has over 16,000 reviews on Trustpilot, vouching for its legitimacy and fairness. It’s free to join and open to Canadians (16 years or older). Bank transfers and popular e-gift cards are only available for US citizens, but you can redeem your points to cash using Paypal.
One thousand points are worth $10, and it’s also the minimum redemption benchmark. Though for newcomers, the site allows an early, 500-point redemption.
There is no fee or charge to redeem your points, but you will have to redeem all your points when you are getting paid via Paypal. If you use a Smartphone, you will be limited to phone surveys. It’s better to use a computer to explore more options.
As far as paid survey sites go, I’d have to say that Survey Junkie is my favourite. The user interface is intuitive and easy to use, the surveys are actually interesting, and they allow you to cash out after earning just $10.
Plus, since they pay via Paypal, you’ll be rewarded with real cash instead of a gift card. If you plan on using multiple survey sites to earn extra money online, then this is a solid choice to keep in your lineup. You can read the full Survey Junkie Canada review here.
- How Much You Can Earn: $0.05 to $2.50 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For Swagbucks Here (Plus Get A $5 Bonus)
Swagbucks is easily among the best and most globally known platforms for paid online surveys. It has paid out over $421 million to surveyors across the globe and gives out about 7,000 gift cards daily. The website pays cash to fill out online surveys.
Users can earn between $0.05 and $2.50 per survey, sometimes more. But not all users qualify for all surveys. You can also get paid for testing products and services and watching online videos.
You can redeem your points for gift cards for major retailers or in cash, which will be transferred to you via Paypal. The minimum cash-out amount is $25.
Other ways to get paid by Swagbucks are cashback shopping (through Swagbucks’s shopping portal) and gift cards. If you refer someone, you earn a $5 bonus and 10% of their earnings for life.

3. LEO, powered by Leger
- How Much You Can Earn: $0.50 to $5
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For LEO Here
LEO is a popular paid survey site that’s available to both Canadians and US citizens. It’s Canada’s largest online panel, with a growing community of over 400,000 users.
Since LEO has established itself as a major brand, it offers a range of different surveys. Compared to other paid Canadian survey sites that I’ve looked at, LEO has a higher-than-average number of high-paid surveys available.
As you complete surveys, you’ll be rewarded with LEO points. Once you build your points, you can redeem them for a variety of rewards, including PayPal transfers, pre-paid credit cards, and various gift cards including SkipTheDishes, Amazon, Starbucks, and other name brands.
One of the coolest features that LEO offers its users is the ability to participate in weekly and monthly draws. This gives you a chance to win big. Some drawings feature a variety of prizes, including gift cards, event tickets, and bundles.
They also have an easy-to-use app that makes earning easy while you’re on the go and a new badge system that allows members who complete certain tasks to earn bonus points to speed up the process of obtaining a reward and additional chances to win in various contests.
- How Much You Can Earn: Up To $3 Per Survey & $6 For Product Testing Offers
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For Pinecone Research Here
Pinecone Research is another great paid survey site. It currently only allows one member per household.
Pinecone Research recently released a mobile app for both Android and iOS. This makes it easy to earn money while completing surveys from your phone. This can be a great way to earn while you’re on your morning commute or just killing time at the house.
Their app is a little bit glitchy from time to time, so I generally recommend using the full online website instead. They’re constantly making improvements, though, so the app will only become smoother and easier to use with time.
Once you finish creating your profile, you’ll be matched with surveys that fit your current demographic. This ensures that the companies get accurate data from their targeted customer base.
But there are usually plenty of surveys, especially for active users. When you take a survey with Pinecone, the payout is decent enough, especially considering the time it takes to complete the survey (usually 10 minutes or less).
You can redeem the points you earn on Pinecone in cash (via Paypal) or gift cards.
- How Much You Can Earn: Between $0.50 and $2.50
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For PrizeRebel Here
PrizeRebel is another US-based survey site that’s open to users globally. It’s free to sign up for and has average Trustpilot and other review ratings, which indicate some disgruntled users.
But more users found it well-paying and efficient. The website claims to have over 10 million users and to have paid over $21 million in cash and rewards since 2007.
When it comes to finding a reliable survey site, looking at the company’s past payouts is a good way to determine how legitimate and trustworthy the site is. With over $21 million in payouts, PrizeRebel is one of the best Canadian survey sites.
It also has a referral system, and you earn a percentage of points that your referral earns from their survey activities. Unlike some other paid survey sites that only care about the time you spend, PrizeRebel also has a “level” system.
The higher your level, the better surveys and services you are likely to get. A hundred points are always equivalent to $1, but the time to complete the survey can determine how much you’ll make in an hour.
This is a neat feature because the system actually rewards those who spend more time on the platform. This ensures that those who need the money the most and complete the most surveys always have access to the top-paying surveys.
Once you create a system for yourself, there’s no reason why you can’t level up quickly and get access to the best-paid surveys.

- How Much You Can Earn: Typically Between $0.50 and $1 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For LifePoints Here
LifePoints is the result of the merger of two previous survey sites that you might have used, mySurvey and GlobalTestMarket. It has a great TrustPilot rating (4.3/5). The site pays via Paypal transfers or through gift cards, and the minimum threshold for redeeming your reward is 5,500 points (equivalent to about $5.5).
With its low withdrawal limit, LifePoints is a great choice for anybody who’s looking to earn some quick cash and collect daily payouts.
Additionally, most of the surveys are quick and easy to complete. Most won’t take more than 10 minutes of your time and ask easy-to-answer questions that don’t require a lot of thought.
LifePoints also offers “boosters” that allow you to earn extra points for survey completion. This gives it a more game-like appeal that may appeal to younger members. Plus, who doesn’t like to earn more for their effort?
7. Toluna Canada
- How Much You Can Earn: Between $0.75 and $6.50 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For Toluna Canada Here
Toluna markets itself as an influencer portal and helps its users feel empowered by declaring them influencers instead of anonymous survey takers. You get 500 points upon signup, and there is no limit to daily point earning.
The point-to-dollar exchange rate is less favourable than other sites (3000 points = $1). However, the numbers balance out when you factor in that you earn more points for each completed survey. When deciding on a survey, I try to focus on the actual dollar amount that I’ll earn instead of the points alone.
In addition to taking surveys, you can earn points by voting on sponsored polls, playing games, creating content for Toluna, and referring someone. Points can be redeemed as e-vouchers and cashed out via Paypal.
Toluna is definitely one of the more interesting paid Canadian survey sites. The company markets itself to younger earners, encouraging the growth of its community.
As far as paid survey sites go, Toluna also offers some great-paying, high-quality polls too. Monetarily, this means you’ll be earning more cash. It also means that you’ll work with larger brands, which can be an interesting experience.
8. OpinionOutpost Canada
- How Much You Can Earn: $0.05 to $5 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For OpinionOutpost Here
OpinionOutpost is a US-based site, with Opionoutpost.ca as its Canadian variant. It allows you to take online surveys, ranging anywhere between 5 and 25 minutes. Shorter surveys usually earn you 5 points (1 point = 10 cents), and at max, you can earn about 50 points from a survey.
If you’re a quick survey taker, this means that you could easily rack up an extra $10 per hour by completing two longer surveys and budgeting a half-hour of time for each.
Short surveys can also be a great source of money if you create an efficient system that allows you to move from one survey to the next after completion.
You can redeem your points in amazing gift cards as well as cash (via Paypal). It restricts only two members per household.
The website doesn’t promise a fixed frequency or length of surveys they offer their users. But it does recommend keeping an updated profile, so they are able to match the maximum number of user surveys to you.
Compared to some of the other Canadian survey sites I’ve used, OpinionOutpost doesn’t offer as many surveys. So, I’d recommend using this platform alongside another paid survey site like Survey Junkie or Swagbucks.
9. Daily Rewards
- How Much You Can Earn: $0.50 to $3 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For Daily Rewards Here
If you’re looking to earn some quick cash upfront, then Daily Rewards is an excellent option! The popular survey site offers $5 just for signing up. From there, you can earn easy money by completing brand surveys and offering your opinion on various products and services.
Daily Rewards also offers some other fun and engaging ways to earn rewards as well. You can get paid to play games, get paid to sign up for promotional trials, and even earn money for sharing your email address with advertisers.
Like several of the other survey sites I’ve mentioned, Daily Rewards also offers a referral bonus whenever one of your friends or family members signs up through your referral link. You’ll earn an extra $5 per referral as well as a 10% commission on your future earnings.
The only downside is that some of the pre-survey questions can be a bit repetitive. The higher-paying the survey is, the stricter the qualifications will be.
Daily Rewards also has a high withdrawal limit and won’t let you cash out your earnings until you’ve earned at least $30. The upside of this is that it encourages you to save your money instead of spending it, though.
10. NielsenIQ Homescan
- How Much You Can Earn: $50 Per Year, Plus Promotions For Completed Surveys
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For NielsenIQ Homescan Here
NielsenIQ Homescan isn’t like most paid survey sites. Although the platform does offer paid surveys that you can take, that’s not the only way to earn rewards.
Another key difference is that users aren’t rewarded with cash for completing surveys. Instead, they’re rewarded with points that can be redeemed for coupons, promotions, and gift cards.
The main goal of NielsenIQ Homescan is to collect data on their customers’ shopping habits. Once you sign up, you’ll be prompted to download the NielsenIQ Homescan app on your phone.
Whenever you buy groceries for your home, you’ll scan a copy of your receipt using the in-app scanner that uses your smartphone camera. NielsenIQ takes this data and shares it with advertisers to help them isolate their target demographic.
As a reward for scanning your receipts, you’ll be rewarded with $50 per year. It may not seem like much, but collecting $50 for scanning your receipts is as easy as it gets. Plus, you’ll be able to take advantage of other deals and promotions to save money along the way.
The only downside of this app is that not everybody is eligible.
The company has a certain quota of users that it tries to keep in each region. If your region already has a lot of NielsenIQ Homescan users, then you may be put on a waiting list.
11. American Consumer Opinion (available to Canadians)
- How Much You Can Earn: $1 to $50 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For American Consumer Opinion Here
Don’t be alarmed by a specific demographic name; this survey is available for Canadians as well. American Consumer Opinion offers one penny per point, and each survey offers at least 100 pennies (as per the website).
But the frequency and qualification for surveys may prevent you from taking too many surveys in one day.
You can also earn points (pennies) by evaluating new products or ads. The website has paid over $30 million since its inception and has over 7 million active members.
To withdraw your earnings, you’ll need to collect at least $10 in rewards points ($10 = 1,000 points). Unlike some of the other paid survey sites we’ve looked at, American Consumer Opinion doesn’t pay in cash.
Instead, you’ll be able to redeem your points for gift cards that match the cash value of your earnings. I usually try to select gift cards for brands that I shop with often, such as Amazon.
12. Survey Club
- How Much You Can Earn: $0.50 to $5 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For Survey Club Here
Survey Club has been around for 15 years. You have to create a detailed profile so that the site can match you up with the relevant surveys. You also have to fill up a pre-survey questionnaire before you can qualify to take the survey.
The value of the rewards, whether it’s directly in cash, points, sweepstakes, or gift cards, is directly proportional to the length of the survey.
The number of surveys you can take depends upon your profile. Some areas have more surveys available than the rest.
The website can also help you connect with the pharmaceutical trials available near you, which can pay really well. You can redeem your cash (or equivalent rewards) when they amount to $25.
13. Maru Voice Canada
- How Much You Can Earn: $0.50 to $5 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For Maru Voice Here
Maru Voice is a Canadian-specific paid survey site. It’s only open to people residing in Canada. The site sends you surveys each week through an email based on your profile.
As a reward for completing the surveys, you can receive points as well as entries into cash contests. These contests or draws happen monthly or yearly, and you can earn between $50 and $1,000.
The point-to-cash conversion rate is $1 for 100 points, and the minimum threshold to redeem is 5,000 points ($50). You can either get cash via Paypal, prepaid Visa cards, or gift cards.
Also, the previously known Angus Reid Forum, another paid survey site forum, has now converted all its original members to Maru Voice Canada.
The only downside of Maru Voice is the $50 minimum withdrawal amount. That’s far higher than average and means that you’ll need to spend a considerable amount of time completing surveys before you can cash out and collect your rewards.
14. Ipsos i-Say
- How Much You Can Earn: $0.45 to $1.50 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For i-Say Here
Like Neilson, Ipsos is also a well-known global market research company. Ipsos i-Say is the company’s paid review site, and it offers you i-Say points for completing a survey, which can be redeemed for cash via Paypal, gift cards, or prepaid Visa cards.
The conversion rate is about 100 i-Say points to $1. PayPal payout is a bit different (1,530 points for $15 cash). The minimum threshold for prepaid Visa cards is $10. You also get 100 i-Say points for every referral.
One of the things I really appreciate about i-Say is that they offer an app for Androids and iPhones. While the app can get a bit buggy from time to time, I’ve found that it’s mostly reliable.
15. Harris Poll Online Canada
- How Much You Can Earn: $0.80 to $1.25 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For Harris Poll Online Here
Harris Poll offers paid surveys in Canada and in the United States. You can earn points (HI Points) by completing online surveys that might take anywhere from 5 to 25 minutes.
Other opportunities include focus groups, telephone surveys, and product research. While the online paid survey is a relatively new development, the company has been around for 50 years.
1,250 HI points are equivalent to $10. But it can only be redeemed for gift cards and merchandise.
Harris Poll doesn’t pay cash. But you can save an equivalent amount in cash by carefully using the gift cards. It also doesn’t have a mobile app, so you will have to rely on a computer to earn rewards from this site.
16. Branded Surveys
- How Much You Can Earn: $1 to $1.50 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For Branded Surveys Here
Branded Surveys has an amazing Trustpilot rating and over 23,000 reviews. The website offers several surveys a week, a frequency higher than most survey websites. You can also earn rewards for participating in focus groups, testing products, or participating in daily polls.
You can redeem your points in cash via Paypal, prepaid cards, gift cards, or movie vouchers.
The website was rebranded from Mintvines, and many people believe that customer service has fallen down in quality. It also has a level system.
You start out as a Bronze member, but you can improve to silver and then to gold. Becoming a gold member increases your incentives per survey or poll that you participate in. You can also boost your points by referring a friend.
17. Web Perspectives
- How Much You Can Earn: $1 to $5 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For Web Perspectives Here
Web Perspectives is a Canada-specific survey site. It’s open to all Canadians aged 16 and up. It has about three million members and offers a decent frequency of surveys.
As you complete surveys, you’ll earn points. The current point-to-cash ratio is 100 points per $1, and most surveys award members 100 to 500 points for every survey they complete (depending on the length and brand offering it).
Another interesting feature offered by Web Perspectives is the opportunity to earn physical rewards. When you complete eligible surveys or sign up for promotional deals, you’ll be mailed your prize within six months time.
Web Perspectives also uses a ranking system to differentiate its members. The more points you earn and surveys you complete, the quicker you’ll rank up and reap the rewards of your labour.
Generally speaking, the higher your rank is, the more surveys will be available to you. Additionally, higher-ranking members typically earn more points per survey, which translates to extra money in your wallet.
- How Much You Can Earn: Around $10 to $15 Per Week In Cashback Deals
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For Caddle Here
Caddle is a cashback rewards app that’s only available to Canadians. Once you sign up and complete your user profile, you’ll be prompted to download Caddle’s iOS or Android app.
As you browse ads, complete surveys, and answer polls, you’ll be rewarded with valuable coupons that you can use with Canadian retailers. Caddle also provides its users with special deals that are only available to members. This is a great way to save on your favourite brands!
As you collect cashback rewards on your account, you’ll be able to apply them directly to online purchases. Conversely, you can also let your rewards build on your account. Once you have at least $20 in rewards credit, you can redeem the amount for a mailed cheque.
If you’re looking to make some quick cash, I wouldn’t recommend Caddle. However, if you’re just looking for a way to save on brands that you already shop with, then Caddle can put some extra money back in your wallet at the end of the month.
- How Much You Can Earn: $1 to $5 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For Drop Here
Drop is one of the newest (and most popular) paid survey sites available to Canadians. Currently, the platform has over three million users and over a million app downloads on the Google Play Store. They also have an iOS app available for all iPhone users out there.
Once you sign up for Drop, you’ll be prompted to download their app. You can also sign up directly from the app as well, which makes it a quick and easy way to start earning extra cash.
Drop users can earn money in three different ways. You can complete surveys, watch paid video advertisements, and even play games. Personally, I prefer to watch paid video ads.
This allows me to do something productive (such as my weekly meal prep or a short workout) while my phone’s playing an ad in the background.
As you complete activities on Drop, you’ll be rewarded with Drop points. These points can be redeemed at affiliated retailers, allowing you to save extra on your favourite brands. You can also link your debit card and opt for direct payouts if you prefer cash rewards.
20. Univox Community
- How Much You Can Earn: $1.25 to $6 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For Univox Here
Univox Community is a growing paid survey site that allows Canadians to earn extra rewards points for sharing their opinions on brands, products, and services. Univox Community currently has around three million users and is steadily growing.
Since Univox is trying to grow its user base, they’re currently offering 200 bonus points (equivalent to $2) just for signing up. This means that you’ll start earning almost immediately.
Unlike Drop, which allows users to earn points for several different activities, Univox only offers polls and surveys to its users. That being said, all of the polls and surveys that I’ve seen on their site seem simple and easy to complete.
The average payout for surveys is anywhere from $1 (100 points) to $4 (400 points). However, the site does offer some high-paying polls that may award up to $6 (600 points) or more. As with most poll sites, longer polls generally award more points to users.
As you collect points, you’ll be able to cash out via Paypal. You can also exchange points for Amazon gift cards, prepaid debit cards, and more.
- How Much You Can Earn: $1 to $5 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For Qbord Here
Qbord is a market research company that’s headquartered in Toronto. Qbord features a growing community and offers a number of different survey opportunities to its users.
If you like traditional polls, you’ll be able to complete surveys that award anywhere from $1 (100 points) to $5 (500 points). Qbord also offers some higher-paying polls to frequent users, so keep an eye out for those.
Qbord users can also earn points by participating in focus groups and rating video advertisements. This is a fun way to participate in marketing tests and allows you to share your opinion in exchange for side cash.
The platform also offers a loyalty program that allows you to earn bonus points and a percentage of earnings whenever you refer a friend to the program.
Once you build up enough points, you’ll be able to cash out with a prepaid Visa card or swap points for a gift card to brands like Groupon, Amazon, Best Buy, Footlocker, and others.
- How Much You Can Earn: $0.50 to $5 Per Survey, Plus Cashback Rewards
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For MyPoints Here
MyPoints is one of the longest-standing consumer research panels on the web and has been around since 1996. They’re based in the US but also operate in Canada as well.
Once you sign up and complete your profile, you’ll be matched to brand surveys you can complete in exchange for points. The point-to-cash ratio is a bit odd, though. 700 MyPoints is equivalent to a cash value of around $5 (which is also the minimum payout threshold).
The one downside of MyPoints is that they don’t offer cash payouts. Instead, you can choose to redeem your points for coupons or gift cards. The coupon deals offered by MyPoints are pretty good, though.
Some coupons may allow you to save up to 40% or more at name-brand retailers.
They’re currently running a special that awards $10 worth of free MyPoints to new users so that you can earn from day one!
- How Much You Can Earn: $0.50 to $6 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For Permission Research Here
Permission Research is a growing research panel with over 2 million members. You can earn points by completing brand surveys. You can later swap these points for gift cards.
In addition to paid surveys, Permission Research also allows users to opt-in for phone surveillance. When you install their tracking app on your phone, you’ll be rewarded with points for allowing the company to track your app usage. This provides valuable data to large apps.
The phone tracking is completely optional, though. If you prefer, you can take surveys and earn points the old-fashioned way.
- How Much You Can Earn: $0.50 to $6 Per Survey
- How To Get Started: Sign Up For SaskWatch Here
SaskWatch is a market research platform that’s currently only available to Saskatchewan residents. Unlike most of the Canadian survey sites on this list, you won’t be participating in brand polls. Instead, you’ll be participating in civic polls.
This is really interesting because it gives users a chance to have a direct say in their local province. You’ll be able to share your opinion on new laws, regulations, and other important community decisions.
As a reward, you’ll be entered into monthly prize drawings. Whenever you share your opinion on a poll, you’ll also be awarded points (100 points = $10). Once you accumulate 150 points ($15), you can redeem your rewards for cash.
How Much Can You Earn From Survey Sites?
Not enough to make it your primary income source, but enough to take care of a few expenses. Not every paid survey site offers you cash for taking their surveys.
Most of them usually pay with gift cards or other cash alternatives. They also have a cap on how much one person can earn in a day, week, or month. And they control this by only offering their best-paying surveys only a few times a month.
So the best-case scenario is to sign up for multiple paid survey sites at once. This way, you will have multiple income streams open, and you will be able to compare them against each other.
With an optimal strategy and selecting a few good sites, you can make about $500 a month from paid survey sites.
Take Advantage Of referral programs
Many of the best paid survey sites offer referral programs that allow you to earn additional money when your friends, family, or followers sign up using your unique affiliate link.
When users sign up with your link and start earning money, you’ll be able to earn a percentage based on what they earn, allowing you to create a passive income stream (even if it’s just an extra $10 to $20 a month).
If you want to broaden your horizons, there’s significant money to be made in affiliate marketing. For example, you can leverage your social media profile to encourage followers to sign up for services or purchase items that you use and love yourself, all while earning a commission from their purchases.

Survey Site Payment Methods – How You Get Paid
Very few sites offer cash directly (cents per survey or time). Most paid survey sites will offer you points, which you can convert to cash. Each site has its own point-to-cash conversion ratio (like $ for 200 points).
You can get paid via cheque, direct deposit, or Paypal. Choose the option with the least bank/transfer charges.
Many sites offer gift cards, usually for the more popular retailers like Amazon or Starbucks.
Tips To Maximize Your Survey Opportunities
Even if you sign up for multiple survey sites, you may find that you run out of opportunities to take online surveys. If you want to make the most from taking paid surveys, here are some tips to maximize your opportunities and increase the number of online paid surveys you’re presented with.
Explore Niche Survey Sites
Whenever you sign up for a survey company, you’ll be asked to complete a brief questionnaire that the platform will use to create a user profile. Your user profile will then be used to help match you with relevant surveys that fit your niche or demographic.
These niche areas can provide additional survey opportunities for users.
The trick is to be as detailed as possible when answering the initial questionnaire. If possible, try to highlight niche-specific interests that could result in you receiving a greater number of surveys.
Some ideas could include:
- Emphasizing your interest in health
- Emphasizing your interest in specific clothing or food brands
- Gearing your profile to fit into specific niches, such as ‘gamer’ or ‘mom’
Be honest, of course. But make sure that you highlight everything that makes you special and unique.
Participate in Focus Groups
Most of the Canadian paid survey sites on this list focus on brief five to ten-minute multiple-choice surveys. These are the easiest to complete but often don’t pay very much.
If you want to maximize the value of your time, consider participating in focus groups.
Focus groups are lengthier surveys that may last for several days (or weeks) at a time. You and several other members of the survey site will answer in-depth questions and may even be asked to sample a certain product or a virtual product, such as a mobile game.
Because of the time involved in focus groups, participants are typically paid far more than standard questionnaires.
Mobile Apps for Surveys
Many of the legitimate sites you can take surveys on are only compatible with desktop browsers. This is all well and good if you’re at home with your laptop or tablet.
However, if you want to make money on the go, then you’ll want to prioritize taking online surveys through a mobile app.
Some of the best survey sites offer a mobile app or mobile-optimized website to make it easier for users to make a couple bucks while they’re on their lunch break or commuting to and from work or school.
How To Avoid Scam Survey Sites
All of the paid survey sites that I’ve mentioned so far are 100% legit. They’re all verified companies that are available to Canadian residents. Each has a long-standing record of fulfilling payments and offering real surveys to its users.
That being said, not every survey site is trustworthy.
A growing number of scam sites have been popping up in search engine results. These sites may steal data from their users or promise rewards that are never paid out.
Here are some helpful tips to help you avoid scam sites:
- Perform background research on the company.
- Read company reviews on sites like Glassdoor, which allows consumers to leave brand reviews.
- Look for companies that have a record of verified payments to users.
- Look for companies that have partnerships with big-name brands.
- Avoid any sites that have been involved in phishing scams.
- Stick with Canadian or US-based survey sites.
These were all key components of my research while creating this article. My list is, by no means, conclusive, though. If you can find more paid survey sites that fit these criteria, I encourage you to try them out.
Paid survey sites are neither get-rich-quick schemes nor are they a viable replacement for a proper income source. But they are a nice way to earn some extra cash without expending any significant effort.
These survey sites are open to anyone; you can participate in surveys from the comfort of your home. It’s one of the few no-skills-required ways to make money simply by employing your idle time.
You won’t get rich taking surveys, but you might have fun!
